The Planning Committee has recently established a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) Working Group. NDPs cannot prevent new housing and development that has been identified in the Local Plan, but can use research and evidence to ensure that development meets our local needs and aspirations. It also means that the town can keep more of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) raised on new development, once that new levy comes into force in April 2019.
