Welcome
Congestion and Parking in Moreton-in-Marsh has been an ongoing issue for many years but now for the first time this Council has set up a formal Committee to prioritise action to address Parking issues. Following the advice provided by the Traffic Officers and County Councillor Nigel Moor of Gloucestershire County Council (GCC), Moreton Town Council has adopted a phased approach to resolving some of the Town’s parking issues.
Phase 1 work prioritises addressing the safety concerns raised by residents relating to a number of pinch points on the High Street where cars overhanging the pavement limit access for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Councillors walked the Moreton High Street with the Traffic Officer on 25th October 2018 to assess the requirement and this work is currently being planned and costed by Traffic Officers at Gloucestershire County Council. The Parking Strategy below recently outlined at an Extra Ordinary meeting of the Council 19 October 2018 sets out the considerations the Council will take into account. Timelines will be added as work progresses.
All aspects and stages will be subject to consultation
